The Senior Financial Analyst is a Permanent Full-Time position based at Nch'ḵaỷ's Head Office.

Our Head Office is in West Vancouver, BC on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sḵw̱xwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and its people.

Scope of the Position
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in providing the visibility needed to support the growth of Nch'kay.

This role supports critical business decisions that will shape Nch'ḵaỷ's future by conducting comprehensive financial analysis, due diligence, and market research for potential investments and Nch'ḵaỷ Operations.

This position requires close collaboration with operational colleagues to collectively generate long term value for Nch'ḵaỷ and the community we serve.

The successful candidate will leverage a deep sense of curiosity, exceptional analytical skills, and financial acumen to provide insights that drive profitability.

By fostering collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams the Senior Financial Analyst will help to transform those insights into tangible actions.

As a key member of the finance team, the Senior Financial Analyst will contribute significantly to strategic decision-making by driving excellence in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and overall business partnering.

A strong financial analysis background is crucial for success in this role.

A. Duties, Responsibilities, Authority, and Accountabilities
a. Budgeting and Forecasting
Responsible for supporting the annual budget process, consolidation, reporting, and long-range planning.
Lead the development and maintenance of financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and supporting strategic initiatives and business decisions.

b. Reporting, Forecasting, and Analysis
Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, identifying trends and variances.

Perform analysis of financial and non-financial data and compare actuals to budget and forecast to provide insights that can be implemented to improve financial performance.

Prepare monthly reporting packages and work closely with the FP&A Manager, to provide monthly insight to the Chief Financial Officer and other senior leadership.

Support the construction of business cases, perform ad-hoc financial analysis and prepare presentations that communicate findings to Nch'ḵaỷ's executive leadership.

Drive the evolution of processes and policies as part of the effort to continually improve the finance function.
Conduct detailed cash flow analysis to ensure liquidity and optimize cash management.

B. Reporting Responsibilities and Authorities from Supervisor
Reports to FP&A Manager.

C. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Certified accountant qualification (CPA or equivalent) or MBA designation required.
Experience in FP&A including undertaking analysis of information; drawing conclusions and financial reporting.
Comfortable with ambiguity - being able to provide clarity and guide decision making.
Strong results orientation and bias for action with the ability to discern the steps needed to be successful.
Adheres to and promotes Nch'ḵaỷ's six Guiding Principles (Leadership, Trust, Respect, Wisdom, Competence, and Passion).
Experience working with First Nations is considered an asset.
