Acara Solutions is looking for Materials Manager for our Client located in London, ON

  • Looking for an experienced Materials manager to manage inventory and purchasing procedures of raw materials and other supplies used in our company.
  • The goal is to ensure our operations always have an adequate flow of the material they need
  • Supervise inventory, scheduling and purchasing personnel
  • Lead to ensure that all safety, quality, delivery and cost goals are met and challenged
  • Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the materials team
  • Interview, select, coach, train, manage, and appraise the performance of supply chain and scheduling personnel.
  • Oversee and maintain inventory levels of materials to meet targets as set by management
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure physical inventory counts are effective and accurate
  • Prepare reports on the status of supplier deliveries, inventory turn, inventory levels and other reports as needed
  • Work with Quality Assurance to understand customer requirements for conformance and control of material
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Production and Quality Assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers.
  • Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
  • Fosters effective employee relations.
  • Establishes a safe and productive work environment for employees.
  • Supervise inventory, scheduling and purchasing personnel
  • Follow regulations and policies as outlined in company's employee handbook
  • Follow requirements as needed by Controlled Goods Registration and other defense sector registrations (ITAR)
  • In accordance with the health & safety policy, follow and exceed the legislative requirements outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act in order to provide a safe & healthy workplace for all employees.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned

Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in leading a team
  • Minimum of 5 years' Experience with MRP/ERP planning
  • Minimum of 5 years' Freight and logistics experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a management role with direct reports

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • Good negotiation skills


 APICS
  • CPIM designation an asset
  • Direct knowledge of Purchasing, Material Control and Inventory
  • Proven track record of dealing with difficult suppliers and achieving positive results
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

Job Types:

Salary:
Up to $100,000.00 per year
