Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Victoria Hospitals Foundation Full time

Are you ready to be part of a dynamic team making a significant impact on healthcare on Vancouver Island? If so, Victoria Hospitals Foundation might be your next great opportunity.

The Victoria Hospitals Foundation (VHF) collaborates with Island Health to facilitate donations to all areas of care at Royal Jubilee, Victoria General, and Gorge Road hospitals. As Island Health's charitable partner, donations are raised for medical equipment, special projects, education, and research. VHF contributors finance an impressive 40% of the equipment in Victoria General and Royal Jubilee hospitals.

In the year 2022/23, over $12.9 million was raised to support our hospitals, coming from more than 5,200 donors. Since 1989, the Victoria Hospitals Foundation has raised in excess of $193 million to benefit our hospitals. This community has generously provided funding for numerous urgently required medical equipment pieces and special projects to assist these hospitals in catering to over 860,000 residents of Vancouver Island.

We have an exciting opening for a Recognition Associate to be a part of our team. This new full-time permanent role will report to the Manager, Philanthropy.

The Recognition Associate will oversee and manage stewardship and recognition initiatives that contribute to the Foundation's annual revenue and retention goals. Responsibilities include project managing the impact report and stewardship letter process, maintaining an equipment library, writing equipment descriptions, managing gift agreements, supporting naming recognition, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the impact report and stewardship letter processes to ensure timely creation of these pieces for eligible gifts.
  • Lead recognition activities such as tours and events for a targeted group of donors.
  • Maintain a donor pipeline by cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding up to 50 donors.
  • Write compelling equipment and program descriptions in collaboration with Island Health Directors and Managers.
  • Obtain quotes and photos from Island Health staff to showcase the impact of donors' philanthropy.
  • Create and manage a library of Island Health and equipment-related statistics, photos, and quotes.
  • Write stewardship letters, impact reports, and other content related to recognition.
  • Utilize Canva and InDesign for designing impact reports as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree in a relevant field or two to five years of professional fundraising experience.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite, Canva or Adobe, Raiser's Edge, and gift processing knowledge.
  • Understanding of CRA regulations related to charitable giving and effective communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle preferred.
  • Goal-oriented, reliable, detail-oriented, with superior written and oral communication skills.

Total Compensation Package:

The base salary for this position ranges from $61,320 to $72,000 based on a 37.5-hour workweek, with additional benefits like extended healthcare and pension program.

An ideal start date is July 1st or sooner. Join a collaborative team that cares deeply about community health and philanthropy. Submit your cover letter, resume, and marketing portfolio in confidence with "Recognition Associate" in the subject line. This opportunity will remain open until filled.
