About the Role


Our company is undergoing an exciting growth phase and are looking forward to welcoming a Human Resources professional to help us achieve our targets and staff our team with top talent The
Human Resources Specialist will partner with the Human Resources department to deliver an exceptional employee experience.

Initially the HR Specialist's primary focus will be on full cycle recruitment including planning and implementing a successful new hire onboarding experience.

There are many opportunities to get involved in various projects and activities to expand your experience and support our efforts in maintaining a highly engaged culture.

(This is a hybrid position)

What You Will Do

  • Manage the endtoend recruitment and onboarding process for assigned positions
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to understand the recruitment needs
  • Manage posting of job vacancies using the bestperforming recruitment channels
  • Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers by providing innovative and creative talent sourcing, attraction, and assessment solutions to meet evolving recruiting and business needs.
  • Support the development and implementation of traditional and social media sourcing and recruitment marketing strategies to find top talent
  • Provide proactive updates on open roles weekly to HR team
  • Prepare and send agreements/ contracts to selected individuals in compliance with legislation.
  • Work closely with payroll to provide relevant employee information required for payroll purposes
  • Maintain HRIS, employee files and training records
  • Monitor retention of new hires and participate in 30, 60, & 90 evaluations
  • Promote a positive, diverse culture and employee engagement through various projects and initiatives
  • Provide guidance and education to ensure organizational compliance with company policies, The Employment Standards Act and current HR legislation (including Human Rights, Health and Safety, Privacy, Employment Law)
  • Stay abreast of changes in legislation and provides suggested actions best supporting the Company
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and standardization/automation of processes to optimize department performance
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Role

  • Postsecondary diploma or certificate in Human Resources Management and/or 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated strong recruitment and onboarding experience
  • CHRP or working towards designation is an asset
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality and develop strong, trust based, professional relationships with employees, managers, and senior staff
  • Ability to remain calm, work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and passion to continuously innovate to achieve great results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills
  • Solution focused, strong problem solving skills, and sound judgment to effectively resolve complex HR issues
  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources applicable laws and regulations
