Education:

  • Postsecondary diploma in Electrical or Computer Engineering Technology or Applied Science Program with a specialty in Control Systems or a related discipline.
  • Postsecondary degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems Design Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and qualifications may be considered.

Knowledge:

  • 3 years of project management experience in areas of initiation, planning, execution (design and field experience), monitoring, controlling, and close out of capital and operating water and wastewater projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of Allen Bradley RS Logix suite of products (e.g. GE Proficy iFix and GE Historian), control systems for water and wastewater processes and industrial communication protocols.
  • Certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Engineering Technologist (L.E.T) with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge, experience and skills in MS Office suite programs (Word, Excel Outlook) and MS Project or other Project Tracking Systems.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications (OPSS), Ontario Provincial Standard Drawings (OPSD), Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide, all applicable legislation and regulations, such as Occupational Health & Safety Act, Environmental Protection Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Ontario Water Resources Act, and all water and wastewater standards (American Water Works Assoc., Canadian Standards Assoc., National Sanitation Foundation, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Niagara Peninsula Standard Contract Document (NPSCD), Drinking Water Quality Management System (DWQMS) and Waste Water Quality Management System (WWQMS) is preferred.

_ Manages and delivers Water and Wastewater Projects, as well as assist in larger Capital Projects as it relates to Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Systems (such as electrical upgrades, instrumentation upgrades, automation hardware upgrades, software upgrades, cybersecurity enhancements, process control narrative development), under the guidance of the Senior Technical Project Manager, throughout the Project Lifecycle (Initiation, Planning, Environmental Assessment, Design, Construction, Commissioning, and Close-out) by Managing the Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk, and Procurement for each project. (60% of the time).
