What's it like working as a Social Media Specialist at Questrade?


The purpose of this role is to help create video content and empower Questrade customers to take control of their financial future.

The Social Media Specialist will take on the responsibility of filming short video content for our social media channels, primarily TikTok and Instagram.

The role will also include researching evolving best practices for social media channels.

  • Film and create video content for Questrade social media channels.
  • Ideate, plan, create, schedule and post content for all lines of business across social channels.
  • Support analysis of content performance, including proposing testing and pivot plans.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure all social media content is onbrand, accurate, and consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice.
  • Work with other members of the creative team (writers and designers) to bring our social media content to life.
  • Monitor competitor trends in the social media space and implement trends across our social channels.
  • Manage a multichannel social media content calendar.
  • Bring forth new innovative ideas and approaches to content creation.
  • Create monthly reports and analyze performance of content, including adhoc and campaign reports as requested.
  • Contribute to biweekly team content brainstorm sessions.
  • Execute the overall social media strategy and look for opportunities to expand the social reach.
  • Manage ideation and creation of new investing content, when launched.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree or postsecondary degree/diploma in business, communications, or digital media.
  • Experience in social media and creating video content for a brand.
  • Experience working across social media channels, including: Twitter, TikTok, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Comfortable being on and off camera.
  • Very strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Experience working with a set brand voice and tone.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Familiarity working within social media tools.
  • Comfortable and knowledgeable analyzing social media content.
  • Knowledge of social trends and know how to find great opportunities for a brand to jump on.
  • Have passion for Questrade's unique position in the market and can help to bring the social media strategy to life in creative ways that demand attention and empower our customers with the knowledge they need to pursue their financial goals.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to rationalize ideas to stakeholders.
  • A mindset of curiosity that seeks to understand how audiences learn and how best to provide them with information they need.
  • Customer centric attitude.
  • Ability to ideate and execute quickly and rigorous attention to detail.
  • Selfdriven, resultsoriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality deliverables.
  • Effective relationship building skills with the ability to work well at all levels of an organization and interact confidently with senior management.

  • Brokerage or financial services experience.
  • A keen interest and knowledge of the market.
