Job Summary:


As Communications Advisor, you will be responsible to develop, implement and evaluate communications activities to promote NSERC policies, priorities and programs.

Together with your immediate supervisor, you will develop key messages, strategies and positioning for NSERC and its programs, and offer communications advice and support to internal clients.


You will also be responsible to work with universities and other stakeholders and partners to promote NSERC activities, including organization of media and promotional events.


Statement of Qualifications:

Education:

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in communications, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position
Foreign Credential Validation against Canadian Standards

Experience:

  • Experience in communications or journalism;
  • Experience in developing and implementing communications strategies and operational plans;
  • Experience writing professional communications products;
  • Experience in media relations and social media considered an asset.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of communications techniques, trends and processes;
  • Knowledge of best practices in organizational and corporate communications;
  • Knowledge of Government of Canada communications policies, regulations and procedures considered an asset.
