TEMPORARY MENTAL HEALTH WORKER

The WECDSB is seeking a Temporary Mental Health Worker to join their team on a short-term basis. This role will report to the Superintendent of Education, Student Achievement, and the Mental Health Lead. The ideal candidate will play a crucial part in the Mental Health team, contributing within a multidisciplinary framework.

  • Provide brief, solution-focused counseling to students with specific goals
  • Deliver prevention, early intervention, and crisis intervention services
  • Assist in organizing student wellness sessions
  • Adhere to established protocols and develop proactive interventions based on student needs

Remuneration: $51.82 per hour for 7 hours a day, 3 days per week, from July 2 to August 30, 2024.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must be a Regulated Mental Health Worker
  • Registered or eligible for registration with specific Ontario colleges
  • Hold a valid Ontario Driver's License and have access to a car
  • Experience working with diverse youth backgrounds
  • Ability to collect, track, and analyze data
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Assets:

  • Group facilitation skills
  • Training in ASIST, SafeTALK, or Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  • Familiarity with Google applications
