In the Faculty of Arts & Science, the Centre for Entrepreneurship is the hub for innovation and entrepreneurship-related academic courses, co-curricular programs, and venture incubation and acceleration.

The Centre works collaboratively with academic departments, college programs, centres, institutes and schools to serve undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty and alumni.


It is built on six pillars of activity:
research, academic courses, co-curricular programming, new venture creation, venture growth and scaling, and community engagement.

A core component of its mandate is to build an entrepreneurial culture throughout Arts & Science by incorporating a central theme of instilling an entrepreneurial mindset and bias toward action.

In 2023, the Centre for Entrepreneurship will be moving to its new dedicated space in the Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus West Building.


Your opportunity:


The Centre for Entrepreneurship is building free and confidential mentoring services for the Arts & Science community through its Venture Mentorship Service and iCorps programs.

Our goal is to educate entrepreneurs by helping them create and sustain for-profit and non-profit ventures.

The Venture Mentoring Service matches prospective and experienced entrepreneurs with carefully selected volunteer mentors to help them build and grow their venture.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or cocurricular programs and activities
  • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
  • Liaising withmanagement to determine goals and priorities
  • Implementing program improvements and maintenance of program standards
  • Acting as the first point of contact for programrelated enquiries
  • Assessing and selecting qualified applicants, including exceptional cases
  • Developing project schedules including milestones, critical path, timelines, deliverables and reporting
  • Monitoring accounts for a project and/or program

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of related experience working on projects in a postsecondary environment with a focus on cocurricular programming and delivery.
  • Solid project management experience to develop sound project charters, scopes, conduct risk assessments, implementing various project phases, with sound benchmarking, metrics and reporting required
  • Experience working directly with a broad range of stakeholders including senior administrative executives, researchers, alumni and students on initiatives is imperative
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills to lead a diverse group of stakeholders and facilitate groups with a broad range of experience, ideas and backgrounds
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, professional maturity, judgment, tact, diplomacy and have the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be flexible and adaptable with a high level of initiative and results orientation
  • Applicants must show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment
  • Demonstrated analytical and problemsolving skills and high attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, time management and problemsolving skills to manage simultaneous demands of the leadership and program/process development work
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and experience managing program budgets
  • Excellent computer skills, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data management programs

  • Master's of Business Administration
  • Project management certification
  • Experience working with and/or administering similar venture mentoring programs
  • Knowledge of venture life cycles and common challenges face by startups is an asset.
