POSITION TITLE:
Warehouse Supervisor - Receiving

SHIFT TIME:
Monday to Friday (5am - 1pm)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the effective day to day supervision of warehouse operations.

People management responsibilities include hiring and retention, training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals and addressing performance issues.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the warehouse operations to accomplish high productivity (cases per hour), exceptional quality (no errors) and cost effective solutions on a continuous basis that meet or exceed GFS standards as they are set

  • Provide ongoing performance management (including positive and constructive) to all Warehouse Team Members
  • Measuring and reporting key performance indicators (KPI) on a regular basis to Director of Warehouse
  • Developing and maintaining departmental work instructions for all job functions for employees to ensure consistency in all roles
  • Effective communication with all Warehouse and Company Management with respect to warehouse operations
  • Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet work flow demands
  • Interpreting company policies to employees and ensuring Health & Safety as well as Food Safety policies are followed
  • Recommending measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department, employee and equipment performance.
  • Working with other warehouse leadership to coordinate activities between departments that will serve both internal and external customers
  • All other duties as required

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous Supervisory experience in a warehouse setting is an asset

  • Experience working in an effective, results focused team environment
  • Excellent organization skills and time management in dealing with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Google Suite
  • Problem solving abilities that require use of ingenuity and innovation
