Duties:

Reporting to the research scientist, the incumbent will:

  • Take assigned experimental protocols and ensure layout and execution of them in the field.
  • Work with the team on lab processing, data management and generation of reports.
  • Operate and maintain agricultural and experimental equipment, such as plot seeders, plot harvesting equipment, soil sampling equipment, and plot sprayers.
  • Observe, measure, collect and record physical/biological/agronomic data using written and electronic records.
  • Train staff on the safe operation of all field and lab equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Purchase equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain the integrity of experimental data sets when various staff are entering data
  • Provide technical information in support of report writing

Experience with minor maintenance and operation of agricultural research or farm equipment.
Experience providing technical support for research in a field environment.
