We are looking for a result driven, customer centric leader who can champion the evolution of the Canadian Tire retail store environment as part of our Better Connected strategy.

The primary focus is to bring our business strategies to life in-store via high impact design projects that integrate operational best practices, analytical insights, evolving technology, and merchant priorities to create an enhanced customer experience.


Canadian Tire has a history of leadership as it relates to store design and concept delivery and this role would lead the scaled rollout, development, and evolution of our three store Concepts: Concept Connect, Remarkable Retail, and our Urban Store.


At Canadian Tire we work flexibility embracing 'Hybrid' whereby individuals utilize a combination of working at a CTC campus and or virtually in service of outcomes.

Determined by managers, decisions around work location will be made based on business and team needs and grounded in a desire to support individual well-being and personal needs.

What you'll do

  • Lead the design and development of Canadian Tire Retail store concepts including full store concept redesign, resets and support for smaller scale design initiatives
  • Initiatives may include new store layouts, décor, fixtures, technology, and store operational changes
  • Project management and leadership of crossfunctional teams
  • Lead the Print décor/signage team, the Fixtures team and the Store Design team
  • Delivery of all Print décor and signage, including Planogram and seasonal Marketing signage
  • Delivery of all fixtures including core assortment and design and procurement of net new fixtures
  • Deliver, testing and refinement of the next Canadian Tire store concept
  • Development and delivery of departmentlevel store redesign/reset
  • On time, on budget delivery of high impact store décor, signage and fixtures in support of business and marketing initiatives
  • Lead a team to understand opportunities in new markets and provide analysis/recommendations for pursuing them
  • Work closely with Canadian Tire Dealer(s) on an ongoing basis
  • Work with cross functional leaders across various divisions to support key business strategies instore
  • Responsible for sourcing, systems, processes & vendor management across Fixture, POP, décor, and design teams
  • Provide leadership and overall direction by leading and fostering a high performance team environment

What you've done

  • 10+ years' of retail/store operational experience. Experience in delivering store or retail redesign is an asset, and a history of P&L level leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large scale, complex initiatives through rigorous program management
  • Superior financial and business acumen with a demonstrated ability to deliver against key performance metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead large, crossfunctional teams in pursuit of a common goal.
  • Superb collaboration, joint problem solving and influencing skills
  • Strong track record of driving results and performance transformation
  • Proven ability to develop, manage and motivate a top caliber team around a compelling vision
  • Must be willing to travel across Canada.
