A. Duties & Responsibilities
- The technician reports to the shift supervisor
- Start-up/set-up/shutdown and maintain the Hydrographic Dipping equipment (including, but not limited to, Dip Print/Power wash/Dehydration systems) or the UltraWrap equipment (including, but not limited to, UltraWrap Former/Robotic Laser Trimming systems).
- Operate the Hydrographic Dipping equipment or UltraWrap equipment to ensure quality parts are produced
- Perform necessary adjustments/changes to process set-up, when required; ensuring to always fully document adjustments/changes
- Ensure production of customer requirements
- Technician will ensure that materials are consumed in FIFO (first in, first out).
- Must be present at the work station five minutes before the shift begins to assure a smooth transition
- Communicate with the incoming or outgoing shift to assure a smooth transition during shift change
- Read and understand the operator instructions at the workstation
- Perform daily PM tasks to ensure all related equipment is functioning properly
- Understand functions of all related equipment and perform minor troubleshooting on all related equipment
- Ensure that the workstation is clean at all times
- Ability to take instruction
- Minimum Grade 12
Required Skills:
- Computer literate
- Team player with leadership ability
- Problem solver with excellent troubleshooting abilities
- Hands on learner with high technical/mechanical aptitude
- Basic knowledge and use of hand tools
- Understanding of Kanban/labelling requirements
- Ability to detect basic moulding defects such as sink, flash, etc.
- No colour vision deficiency
- Excellent motor skills and dexterity
- Understanding of key Quality & Environmental Management Systems procedures related to job function
- Forms, Tags and Labels governing job function
