Key Performance Factors:

As a Supervisor you will be responsible for oversight of HKS guard personnel, engage in operational service and delivery.

The Supervisors responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain positive interactions with clients.
  • When on call, 24hr availability is a must. Must be sober and ready to work when called to site.
  • Respond to our client's requests with a quick, flexible, and operational approach that is based on sound strategy and that includes the client in the operational experience.
  • Understand the principles of proper leadership, while fostering a positive nontoxic work environment.
  • Be a Team Leader and provide appropriate coaching and mentoring to junior staff.
  • Fostering kind delivery method.
  • Effective delegation skills
  • Knowledge of using the Sandwich method

  • Take responsibility for the final product that our company delivers to the client.
  • Know all Divisional policy and procedures, and ensure the staff adheres to them as is necessary during the execution of assignments.

  • Keeping employees informed as to the company/department plans and progress, maintains appropriate communications within area of responsibility.
  • Working in close liaison with managers representing different service lines

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma preferential or equivalent, life experience, degree in related field, accompanied with security guard or investigation training and work experience. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or work visa with at least 6 months to run.
  • Basic security guard training course.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, second language a benefit.
Professional/Technical Certification or Licenses

  • Possess a valid Alberta Security Guard License
  • First Aid and WHMIS certification is a must. CPR and CSTS is an asset.
  • 3+ years' experience in a Security Management role.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license and a clean 5 year drivers abstract.
Ability to prepare for extreme weather conditions in all seasons.

Reliable vehicle in good working order, as highway driving is expected.

  • Fit and healthy to be able to walk unaided while on site, stand for long periods of time.
Assessments on _Indeed_ must be completed to be considered for role.

Responsibilities:

This role will include the supervision of the security team.

The Security Supervisor will be responsible for providing support and supervision of people and operations and will have an irregular shift pattern including night duty, weekends and on call shifts.


Job Knowledge or Work Experience:

  • 3+ years' experience in a Security Management role.
  • Excellent listening, reading and administration skills, effective communicator (verbal and written English, second languages a benefit), well organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to motivate, inspire and lead a team.
  • An analytical thinker with advanced problemsolving skills. Ability to approach and resolve a problem.
  • Willing to travel between sites and out of town 50% of the time as needed on shift.
