The Project Lead, Emerging Energy acts as Women Building Futures (WBF's) ambassador for expansion of WBF's impact in the Alberta Energy and Emerging Energy sectors.
WBF has long standing history and partners in Energy and is now ready to integrate Emerging Energy into that portfolio through a defined strategy and related partner and programming effort.
The Project Lead will assist in operationalizing the emerging energy strategy for WBF, which will focus on the work to build, sustain and grow our engagement with the emerging energy sector and how to best prepare and connect women to related and impactful employment opportunities.
This role will also work to finalize and engage with an industry specific Advisory Council.Using industry connections, and with a strong understanding of industry needs and expansion areas, you will support the development and activation of WBF's Emerging Energy strategy and programming.
Key Responsibilities- Operationalize a multiyear strategy for WBF's growth and engagement in the Emerging Energy industry, in collaboration with crossfunctional department input and execution.
- Oversee and participate in the implementation and operationalization of the WBF Energy / Emerging Energy engagement plan.
- Identify barriers for women in this sector and define related approach for managing referrals and/or recommendations for support of program applicants.
- Support WBF's Industry Relations efforts through professional interactions with employers/partners.
- Provide support for WBF alumni in this sector.
- Directly participate in project processes, templates, and documentation development, in collaboration with other departments.
- Execute the preparation of necessary proposals and project plan implementation.
- Update and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and project deliverables.
- Track and analyze project performance, expenditures, while identifying risks or issues.
- Effective communication with internal and external partners to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with project partners.
- Support the project management of acquisition and coordination of equipment, locations, SME's, and technology.
- Maintain impeccable project records, files and documentation as required by funders and WBF.
- Support reporting on project metrics to internal and external partners.
- Respond to requests for assistance, resources, information about the projects as required.
- Good knowledge of Alberta energy sector and the emerging energy sector.
- Familiar with expectations in trades and connection to industry.
- High level of personal integrity and commitment to putting the Mission and values of WBF into action.
- A connector who is interested in building and nurturing relationships and strengthening a network that includes industry and government.
- Great capacity to adapt in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Dynamic and energetic individual with excellent communications and public speaking skills.
- Confidence and comfort speaking to individuals from across sectors and at all levels of an organization, ability to communicate information in clear, concise ways, and adapt for a variety of participants and audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy are necessary to work with diverse backgrounds; must be able to interact professionally with a variety of internal and external client groups.

- 5 years minimum of demonstrated experience preferably in the energy sector and project management experience. Nonprofit sector experience considered an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of experience liaising between internal and external teams.
- Diploma or degree in a related field or Red Seal Certification (e.g., fund development, business, marketing, communications, public relations, social sciences) an asset.
