Production Painter

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates and uses all paint shop equipment properly and safety.
  • Removes rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface.
  • Masks and protects parts that are not to be coated.
  • Mixes paint according to specifications.
  • Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate.
  • Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
  • Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.
  • Keeps work area clean.
  • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
  • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and pother hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
  • Cooperates and assists other personnel in all assigned tasks.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA RighttoKnow etc.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Computer skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to interpret and analyze manuals & specs
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must have the ability to work a variety of shifts
  • Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and ventilation systems
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
must have 3-5 years experience in troubleshooting and repair of greco/birks spray equipment or equivalent pipefitting/pump certifications.**
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary:
$22.00-$27.00 per hour
