We are looking to expand our employment services team in Edmonton, with the addition of the Employment Connection Specialist. This role is subject to funding approval, and we welcome interested applicants in advance of funding confirmation.

The Employment Connection Specialist is responsible for supporting employment program participants in preparing for, securing, and maintain employment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with participants to create a meaningful and customer-focused experience.
  • Navigates participants through the program intake journey and develops service plans.
  • Supports participants in preparing for job search and completes relevant referrals.
  • Supports participants in job search activities, provides expertise in labour market information and job search strategies.
  • Engages with employer partners to facilitate successful participant placements and on-going job maintenance for lasting employment.
  • Actively develops and expands employer relationships through effective marketing and engagement strategies.
  • Completes relevant reporting and program administration requirements.

Required experience, qualifications, and competencies:

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources or similar
  • Recent and relevant experience of 2 or more years providing support to individuals engaged in finding and maintain employment. This could include employment programming, career advisory services, recruitment, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a person-centred, strengths-based approach to service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technology quickly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and adapt to shifting priorities.

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Open Door Group must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
