  • As a Customs & Trade Analyst, you play an active role in supporting the local Customs & Trade team ensuring all daytoday responsibilities and accountabilities are met. You will help support and lead local projects with the aim to minimize customs duty costs.   • The Customs & Trade Team supports Arc'teryx product development, sourcing, and distribution by providing analysis on duty rates and free trade agreements and ensuring fast and compliant import/export transactions. You will be part of a dynamic, multi

If you were the Customs & Trade Analyst now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Working with and resolving Broker's enquiries
  • Classifying apparel and outwear for multiple countries
  • Researching information and responding to requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Conducting product review and qualification under specific duty relief programs and Free Trade Agreements (FTA) against the Rules of Origin (ROO) including, Tariff Shift, and Regional Value Content, and De-Minimis rules
  • Providing support to colleagues to ensure accurate and relevant information is gathered and properly maintained
  • Prioritizing and completing work according to the Department's needs
  • Supporting team members with multiple tasks, projects and daytoday operations
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of processes identifying ways to improve efficiencies

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Collaborating with Product Development to classify products and provide duty rate and free trade agreement analysis back to the team
  • Maintaining customs data in business systems to support sourcing, distribution, and budgeting needs
  • Responding to information requests from brokers to ensure fast and compliant shipment processing
  • Meeting with our Customs & Trade colleagues in Europe and China to collaborate on customs activities in other regions
  • Submitting ruling requests to CBSA for new products

Are you our next Customs & Trade Analyst?:

  • You have 3+ years of apparel and retail import experience, preferably having a CCS designation
  • You have degree in supply chain, international business, or equivalent experience.
  • You have experience with SAP GTS, Amber Road/E2Open, Centric or similar systems
  • You have strong Microsoft Excel experience and knowledge
  • You have strong communication skills (written and oral) and are fluent in English
  • You have knowledge of applicable customs laws and regulations including customs operations
  • You have a basic understanding of HTS system and Free Trade Agreements
  • You possess strong time management skills, with ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks
  • You have a strong understanding of business math, percentages, and conversions
  • You have welldeveloped analytical skills with high level of accuracy
  • You have experience with Microsoft Office
  • You possess cultural awareness of other cultures and drive to effectively work with colleagues in other countries and regions
  • You are able to manage several projects at one time, working independently as required
  • You are able to multitask and to prioritize under pressure and within timeline constraints
  • You are available for occasional meetings with other regions outside of core working hours
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration
