What is the opportunity?


Risk & Investment Analytics (R&IA) is a business unit within RBC Investor Services that is focused on assisting institutional clients achieve their investment performance and governance goals.

The unit provides a range of consulting and support in the areas of risk, compliance, performance measurement and investment analytics.

R&IA's approach to investment analytics is extremely comprehensive in nature. The department is committed to an aggressive product development plan that will support its robust, customizable investment analytics system. It provides high levels of data integration, calculation and reporting for clients. R&IA is responsible for managing and developing its relationship with over 200 clients.

What will you do?

  • Lead the Data Acquisition Team and assist in the day to day data management activities as volume dictates.
  • Continually search for ways to streamline and improve the daily and monthly processes involved with the loading of client and index data.
  • Working closely with the Onboarding team, manage the sourcing and integration of new custodial data.
  • In collaboration with the Onboarding team, the Product group, and Vendor Management, manage the sourcing and integration of new index or market data as needed to support new clients or products.
  • Ensure R&IA usage of market data is in compliance with vendor agreements.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and map specifications for new market and index data.
  • Communicate changes in market index data.
  • Communicate with custodians and third party suppliers for resolution of production data issues. Serve as first point of escalation for all issues and escalate to Senior Manager as required.
  • Consistently strive to exceed internal clients' expectations both in timing and accuracy of all data sources, file transfer and loading procedures.
  • Participation in data related projects and other projects as assigned.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 35 years' experience working with data in Financial Services Industry.
  • Familiar with SQL and basic query skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience leading a team is an asset
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Finance
  • Canadian Securities Course
