The Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department of TD Bank is responsible for overseeing the management of TD Bank's Canadian and US P&C: non-trading market risk, consolidated liquidity risk and consolidated capital position.


  • The Balance Sheet Reporting and Analytics (BSRA) team is a centralized function in the Balance Sheet Measurement and Analytics (BSMA) team in TBSM responsible for completing all reporting and analytics relating to Non-Trading Market Risk (NTMR) and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP). This newly realigned team will be accountable for ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all reporting coming from the BSMA group. As a centralized function in TBSM, the team is responsible for providing insights on the Bank's Segment reporting and NIM results and Non-Trading Market Risk Positions.

Job Description:

The Balance Sheet Reporting & Analytics (BSRA) AVP will:

  • Lead and develop a team of finance/risk professionals to ensure best-in-class market risk reporting of the Non-Trading Book and Funds Transfer Pricing
  • Provide Treasury oversight over Non-Trading Market Risk including interest rate risk and foreign exchange risk and FTP through effective analysis of the FTP framework
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness reporting to our front office traders, Finance partners, Product Partners, Risk Management, Board, Financial Disclosures and Regulators
  • Support the NII forecasting of retail segments and associated NII and NIM reporting
  • Produce insightful and actionable deepdives, largely to support TBSM's businessadvisory service.
  • Work with the Balance Sheet Measurement & Projects (BSMP) team to monitor risk position against approved limits and ensure material breaches are addressed on a timely basis through stable reporting output
  • Provide active engagement to task forces and committees as needed
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders across the bank, including other Finance functions, 2nd line and 3rd line risk functions
  • Foster a positive and rewarding working environment through R&R programs, employee engagement and continuous learning.

Requirements:

This position requires a highly results-oriented individual who has:

  • 7-10 years of experience in finance / accounting, bank treasury or other relevant experience
  • Postsecondary degree in Finance, Math or Economics
  • Valued designation: CA, CMA, FRM, CFA, MBA
  • Ability to communicate effectively, synthesizing complex issues to easy to understand messages.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop people and motivate team members
  • Superior relationship management and influencing skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.

In depth knowledge of:

  • The features and characteristics of Retail Banking Products
  • Knowledge of Accounting principles, Financial Controls and Capital Markets concepts
  • Asset/Liability Theory and Fixed Income portfolio management concepts and techniques (e.g. duration, convexity, key rate immunization).

Experience with:

  • Leading initiatives across different departments and business segments
  • Reporting complex financial concepts in business terms understandable by audiences with varied backgrounds & seniority levels
  • Producing and analyzing management reporting results as well as managing projects, gathering & analyzing business requirements.
