The Financial Manager is responsible for the Organization's full Financial Cycle. You will work closely with and report to the CEO to ensure accuracy and transparency in financial accounting. Your team will support you in delivering on goals and objectives connected to the strategic plan. Your duties will include account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, monthly reporting, tax reporting, and preparation of budgets. You will also manage our organization's debt and lead the development of financial statements and forecasts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities.
  • Prepare financial reports, forecasts, statements, and projections.
  • Assess financing alternatives, considering risk, return, and market conditions.
  • Follow established practices while making suggestions for process improvement.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and budgets.
  • Monitor the cash flow of the organization to ensure sufficient funds are available (includes but not limited to fundraising, donation & grants)
  • Prepare an analysis of financing needs for major capital purchases, working capital, and other financing needs.
  • Prepare and monitor the company's credit facility
  • Ensure accurate payroll reporting (completed by Payroll Clerk)
  • Prepare periodic financial reports for the organization in a timely fashion
  • Ensure the security of paper & electronic systems used in financial reporting.
  • Responsible for maintaining all aspects of the Company Pension Plan
  • Create and maintain clear records connected managing restricted funding.
  • Maintain and manage audit records for all locations of the organization.
  • Maintain insurance coverage, ensuring necessary adjustments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Professional Accountant (CPA)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Experience

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Experience completing Charitable Tax Returns
  • Experience with financial management & payroll software systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Keen strategy to adapt regulatory changes, and strictly follow CRA requirements
  • Understand diplomacy and have experience working in a collaborative and dynamic team environment
