Department: Retail Sales Operations

Location: Field – US, PR and Canada

Status: Hourly

Overview

With the industry's largest retail intelligence database, a vast inventory of impulse products, and a highly experienced team, we are the top strategic partner for merchandising in North America.

Jacent Strategic Merchandising sources, warehouses, ships, and stocks over 3,500 impulse items to 14,000 retail stores across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. We develop strategic merchandising plans for each store, ensuring the right impulse items are placed in optimal locations and offer additional retail insights and services such as audits and shelf stocking to enhance store efficiency.

Our work aims to provide customers with relevant products, creating enjoyable shopping experiences and driving incremental sales for retail partners.

Summary

The Merchandiser plays a vital role in enhancing the consumer shopping experience by developing merchandising solutions within assigned stores. Responsibilities include cultivating relationships with store management, executing merchandising resets, building retail displays, managing impulse item merchandising, and ensuring proper plan-o-gram implementation, among other duties. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to build solid business relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain store presentation standards through various activities like building displays, shelf maintenance, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Identify opportunities for additional display space to boost sales.
  • Visit multiple stores daily along an assigned route.
  • Build and nurture relationships with business partners and store management.
  • Monitor and enhance customer satisfaction levels.
  • Collaborate with supervisors on key initiatives.
  • Ensure full product distribution and display on assigned accounts.
  • Adhere to safe work practices and company policies.
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks as directed.

Experience and Credentials

  • Minimum age of 18.
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience required.
  • Preferred 1 to 2 years of prior merchandising, grocery, or retail sales experience.
  • Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliable transportation is a must.
  • Access to essential tools like a computer, internet, and printer for work-related tasks.
  • Proficiency in using technology for business purposes.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Weekday morning and early afternoon availability.
  • No weekend or evening commitments.
  • Up to 20 hours per week.
