Job Summary


We are looking for a goal driven Emergency Management Professional to support our comprehensive Emergency Management Planning and Training program deliveries team.

Within our organization, the Operations Manager works directly with our Emergency
(HEPR) Code of Conduct and upholds our mission, vision and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a collaborative team member, as well as follow direction from supervisor.
  • Follow HEPR Code of Conduct.
  • Support HEPR Field Staff with training for clients where applicable and needed.
  • Support HEPR Field Staff during community emergency response as required.
  • Ensure elevated levels of client satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Manage issues arising from field staff and clients (complaints, grievances etc.).
  • Market available training to clients and provide necessary information about sessions.

  • Conduct clientbased needs assessments and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
  • Design and develop training programs (outsourced and/or inhouse).
  • Assist in establishing training plans and schedules, designing, and developing training programs (outsourced or inhouse).
  • Organize and book training services with clients.
  • Support field staff with travel arrangements and preparations of materials for training deliveries.
  • Support field staff checkins afterhours on a rotational basis.
  • Assist with oncall support program for clients.
  • Prepare and order educational aids and materials.
  • Gather, document and file feedback from trainers and trainees after educational sessions.
  • Partner with external stakeholders and liaise with First Nations and Government Agencies.
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
  • Manage and maintain inhouse training facilities and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned related to emergency management.
  • Place extreme value and commitment in honoring and respecting all aspects of the position and personal life.

Operational Requirements:

  • Willing and able to work flexible hours if needed, including some evenings or weekends.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Adherence to WorkSafe and Health and Safety practices.
  • Report directly to a supervisor while being able to work independently.
  • Maintain HEPR product knowledge through selfeducation and discussion with management.
  • Participate in personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs.
  • Support of equipment delivery and field training sessions.
  • Assist with preparing and ordering educational aids and materials.
  • Manage and maintain HEPR field equipment.

Qualifications:

Skills

  • Experience working in emergency management or related field.
  • Proven successful experience in project management.
  • Experience in information technology, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as an energetic, collaborative and dependable team player.
  • Quick and effective problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Basic mathematics and financial knowledge for working within project budgets.
