Position Summary


The Calgary Stampede BMO Kids' Zone has fun for kids of all ages with activities, an entertainment stage with multiple performances daily, and character meet and greets.


The Supervisor for the BMO Kids Zone at the Calgary Stampede will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of the Kids Zone and leading a team of Guest Ambassadors.

You will be responsible for ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for families and children attending the event.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of Guest Ambassadors within the BMO Kids Zone, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee the daily activities and attractions within the Kids Zone, ensuring they are set up and maintained to a high standard.
  • Monitor the performance of Guest Ambassadors, providing feedback and coaching to enhance their customer service skills and overall effectiveness.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Guest Ambassadors, addressing questions, concerns, and escalations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all guests by enforcing safety rules and regulations, monitoring activities, and addressing any potential hazards or risks.
  • Maintain inventory and supplies for the Kids Zone, monitoring usage and reordering as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the Kids Zone, identifying maintenance or cleanliness issues and coordinating with relevant departments for prompt resolution.
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints that require managerial assistance, resolving issues and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, respect, and open communication among team members.
  • Assist in setting up and tearing down the Kids Zone before and after the event.
  • Play a key role in the emergency protocols for the area.
  • Adherence to CS emergency response plans
  • Understand role in the communication chain of command in Emergency Response plans, both venuespecific and parkwide.
  • Participate in the Outdoor Entertainment Emergency Response tabletop exercise. Date and time TBC.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Preferred
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Passion for working with children and families, with the ability to engage and entertain guests of all ages.
  • Must be available to work all 11 days of the 2023 Calgary Stampede July 616, 202
  • Flexible schedule, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the Calgary Stampede.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods, walk long distances, and lift/move objects up to 25 pounds.
