We're looking for our next Senior Underwriter.
Under the direction of the AVP of Munich Re Canada Facultative, the Senior Underwriter is responsible for the marketing and underwriting of complex property insurance, with an emphasis on construction, operational power, energy & mining.
This role is based out of our Toronto office.Independently underwrite and price moderate to highly complex business in accordance with corporate, divisional and department guidelines and philosophy.
Underwrite new and renewal business, including all tasks associated with risk and coverage analysis and pricing, and provide recommendations for proposed terms within delegated underwriting authority.
Review primary policy, contract and endorsement wording and ensure accuracy and conformance with guidelinesDemonstrate and maintain enhanced technical product and underwriting expertise.
Monitor profitability of assigned clients/accounts, developing strategies or action plans to propose corrective actions as needed.
Lead departmental projects related to the development and implementation of underwriting strategy.
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of pricing models, tools and other risk evaluation models
Participate in peer reviews of team members' accounts
So are YOU our next Senior Underwriter? CIP/FCIP/CRM designation or progression towards would be an asset.
~5 to 7 years of experience underwriting property insurance preferably including construction, operational power, energy & mining.
~ Solid grasp of commercial insurance products combined with good knowledge of the insurance industry.
~ French language proficiency would be an asset.
~ Strong collaboration and team building skills.
~ Strong computer ability, specifically with MS Office Products .
