Position: Payroll Specialist

Key Responsibilities
  • Update and verify employee data, handling new hires, terminations, and changes

Compliance:
  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and compliance standards
  • Ensure adherence to provincial and federal payroll regulations

Benefits Administration:
  • Support benefits administration linked to payroll such as health insurance and retirement plans
  • Process other payroll deductions

Reporting:
  • Create and analyze payroll reports for management
  • Submit necessary payroll documentation and reports
  • Maintain accurate personnel records in Newstar/Ceridian
  • Prepare and input journal entries in Newstar, Ceridian, or Yardi

Problem Resolution:
  • Investigate and resolve payroll errors and discrepancies
  • Address employee inquiries promptly

Requirements
  • Post-secondary education or relevant professional training
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in payroll
  • Recognized Payroll Professional Designation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Ceridian, SAP, or Newstar
  • Thorough knowledge of CRA guidelines and payroll legislation
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Positive Police Check required
