Course

  • Character Design; Texture course ; composition course.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan class sessions;
  • Deliver sessions in a dynamic, efficient and structured manner;
  • Design formative and summative evaluations according to the competencybased approach;
  • Administer and correct evaluations;
  • Followup on each student and encourage success;
  • Be available to students in order to promote their development of the competency targeted by the course;
  • Any other related duties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
You must be legally entitled to work in Canada and must meet one of the following criteria

  • Hold a university certificate or diploma or a college degree, with an option or concentration in the relevant discipline;
  • Teach or have teaching experience in the discipline for a full semester within the last five (5) years;
  • Have practiced a trade or profession related to the discipline or course in question for at least two (2) years.
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS FOR THE COURSE OF CHARACTER DESIGN

  • Hold a university certificate or diploma or a college degree, with an option or concentration in the relevant discipline;
  • Teach or have teaching experience in the discipline for a full semester within the last five (5) years;
  • Have practiced a trade or profession related to the discipline or course in question for at least two (2) years;
  • Master the use of Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter and Arnold render engine software;
  • Accurate interpretation of the synopsis (sketches, photos, scale model, identification of extreme facial expressions and gestures) for the creation of characters, in accordance with animation constraints;
  • Build anatomical models of the characters;
  • Appropriate choice of textures for the physical properties of materials and textures (opacity, reflection, refraction, luminosity, roughness);
  • Verification of the quality of the model in terms of production and rendering characters.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS FOR THE TEXTURE COURSE

  • Mastery of Photoshop and Zbrush software;
  • Texture creation and image processing in Photoshop;
  • Understanding of industry standards for 3D production.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS FOR THE COMPOSITION COURSE

  • Experience in rotoscoping, masks, colour correction, green screen overlay, integration of 3D rendered images;
  • Composing image levels;
  • Advanced Nuke X software skills for adding basic 2D effects in the form of snow, air particles, etc;
  • Basic integration of 3D images (animating light, adding shadows, etc.);
  • Understanding of industry standards for 3D production.
Classes are offered during the day.

Bilingualism and teaching experience are major assets.
