JOB PROFILE:

Lions Housing Centres Inc. is currently recruiting permanent part-time (0.9 EFT) days Laundry Aide staff for the Personal Care Home facility.


This position is responsible to assist in the operation of the laundry department, striving to maintain a high quality of service, consistent with organizational goals and objectives.

Assist in Housekeeping as needed. This position reports directly to the PCH Housekeeping Supervisor under the supervision of the Support Services Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Washing and drying of linens/personal clothing.
  • Delivery of personal clothing to resident's rooms.
  • Pick up soiled linen and personal clothing.
  • Deliver clean linens to all floors.
  • Folding and hanging of personal clothing.
  • Folding of linens and placing them on shelves.
  • All cleaning of the laundry room at the end of the shift.
  • Labelling of all personal clothing.
  • Assist in inventory recording.
  • Other Housekeeping duties as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your education and qualifications include:_

  • Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
  • One (1) year of current housekeeping and laundry experience in a Long-Term Care, Supportive Housing, and Independent Living setting or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS applicable to Housekeeping/ Laundry.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products commonly used in commercial cleaning required.
  • Effective problemsolving skills.
  • Good organizational skills, with ability to adapt to changing needs and requirements.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English is required.
  • Able to carry out duties in a professional manner, working under minimum or no supervision.
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders on a frequent basis and lift/ push up to 50lbs.
  • Must maintain a clean, neat appearance, in accordance with Lions Housing Centres Inc. dress code.
