York Region Employment Services is part of YMCA Employment and Community Programs which provide a variety of employment and counselling programs to youth and adults throughout the GTA.

In this role, you will:

Assist members with the use of computers and other techniques to conduct information searches Facilitate group workshops relating to self-employment and complementary life skills; assist in developing workshops including research, curriculum, and materials to meet contract outcomes; assist in identifying and recruiting appropriate subject matter experts to contribute to the design and delivery of program workshops; coordinate opportunities for guest speakers for identified and scheduled workshops and seminars Keep abreast of entrepreneurship education and current sector and/or domain knowledge, including following current events and trends and research relevant information relating to self-employment and local labour market statistics Participate in program marketing, outreach, maintain distribution lists, and work with other organizations to represent the program; prepare and produce program communication tools and reports Prepare and produce written and statistical reports using a variety of information systems from which to draw data Manage inbound telephone, fax, and email inquiries and walk-in traffic; greet appropriately, all members, whether onsite, on the phone, or via email; perform outbound telephone services, liaise with consultants and members; gather information, and track outcomes Provide superior service to members and staff, direct members to appropriate resources and services Maintain and organize organizational files competently, with in-depth attention to detail Perform other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed:

Commitment to the YMCA's Focus on the health, safety and wellbeing of all children, youth, and vulnerable people in YMCA programs including understanding legal and moral obligations related to reporting suspected child abuse to Child Protection Services YMCA Competencies: Accountable, Relationship-Builder, Improvement-Orientated, Team Player & Leader, Equity and Wellbeing Promoter

You bring:

University Degree in a related field preferred or completion of a Community College Diploma in Business or equivalent experience Diploma or Certificate in workshop facilitation, self-employment education, or a related area Certified experience as a small business owner and/or manager Minimum of two years of experience in workshop facilitation, self-employment education, or a related area Demonstrated knowledge of the local labor market and self-marketing techniques Experience in delivering superior presentations and facilitating skills Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, establishing rapport and excellent communication with members, staff, and volunteers Excellent written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Flexibility regarding assigned schedules Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity, including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design
