**APPLY HERE**Cleveland Clinic Occupational Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to serve as Assistant Director to oversee their Florida Market

Under the guidance of the Medical Director and Senior Clinical Director of Enterprise Occupational Health, assists in directing the administration of clinical operational activities for multiple physical Occupational Health locations in the Florida Market.

Oversees daily operations in conjunction with local nurse managers and collaborates with clinical program leaders to implement and assure program workflows, service expectations, and metrics are achieved. Work with Cleveland Clinic AtWork, as applicable, to optimize resources and achieve department business goals. Provides virtual care for caregivers including APP coverage for the Occupational Health hotline.

Schedule: M-F Days + On Call Hours (weekend call included) + Holiday Rotation. Schedule may vary based on departmental and organizational need.

*Minimum 3 years recent clinical experience working as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).

*Must have 2 years of healthcare management/leadership experience with demonstrated competency of clinical skills and techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains knowledge of current regulatory requirements for agencies such as CDC, OSHA, CMS, JC, ODH and supports managers with accreditation surveys.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and oversight of policies and procedures to ensure efficient, effective, evidence-based delivery of Occupational Health services.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of care and initiate quality improvement actions as needed.
  • Monitor overall staffing patterns, workflow, and productivity to ensure operational and quality metrics are met, and clinical teams are working to the top of their license.
  • Supervise and evaluate performance of nurse managers across multiple Occupational Health locations.
  • Implement staff engagement and development programs and provide formal and informal coaching as needed.
  • Work with Program Clinical Leads in aligning service delivery to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for communications including special programs and Occupational Health regulations and practices.
  • Prepare and lead daily huddles; conduct staff meetings.
  • Collaborate with liaison departments and participates in hospital committees as appropriate.
  • Partner with Infection Prevention to respond to events involving caregiver exposures to infectious agents (e.g., T.B., measles, varicella, etc.)
  • Oversee the annual flu vaccine campaign for all regions to reach the target goal of 95%.
  • Oversee the respirator fit testing program to reach the annual target goal.
  • Oversee the annual TB screening program to reach the annual target goal.
  • Demonstrate ability to be effective in a fast paced, continually evolving environment.
  • Works independently, able to multitask, able to delegate and change priorities quickly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Clinical Program Lead: Specific program as assigned:

  • Apply evidenced based practices, research, regulations, etc.
  • Establish program goals, conduct reviews, and monitor metrics/measures.
  • Create communication plans for key stakeholders.
  • Conduct trainings.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Primary provider and resource for clinical oversight and implementation of direct clinical services.
  • Responsible for standing orders and directives in consultation with Medical Director and Sr. Clinical Director for clinical nursing staff.
  • Quality oversight of clinical nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with Occupational Health Hotline APP to assist in management of exposures including lessons learned to improve clinical care.
  • Oversee pre-placement health assessments and evaluate candidates who do not meet requirements to ensure proper consultations are performed by PCP or specialist and to help facilitate accommodation requests.
  • Perform specialty physical examinations for Security, DOT, HERT.
  • Prescribe post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) for bloodborne pathogen exposures (BBPE) as necessary.
  • Assist in medical management of FRIC, BSL-3 exposures. Provide virtual care for minor injuries (e.g., animal scratches/superficial bites).
  • Fitness for Duty and RTW evaluations as needed.
  • Collaborate with Occupational Health Hotline RN and APP team to coordinate exposure care and follow up, return to work and other services, and participate in regular after hours call to support the RN team, as needed.

Education:

  • APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) &MSN (Master of Science in Nursing) required

Languages:

  • Language required: English

Certifications:

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in applicable state(s): Florida and Ohio.
  • National certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by nationally accredited organization recognized by state Board of Nursing, current licensure by applicable state Board of Nursing, (including certificate to prescribe if applicable).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Nursing certification in specialty area in occupational health, mental health/chemical dependency, public health, infection prevention or related health field preferred.
  • Must be privileged by CCF's Credentialing Board.

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, highly detail oriented.
  • Skills in continuous improvement and change management.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel).

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years recent clinical experience working as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
  • Must have 2 years of healthcare management/leadership experience with demonstrated competency of clinical skills and techniques.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls.
  • Requires travel to all clinic locations throughout Florida.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
