What We Need

The Pod Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the Processing team's loans from application through closing, ensuring that loan origination and processing milestones are met within expected timeframes. They will work closely with senior team leaders and operations management to increase the efficiency and speed at which loans move through production and manage a team to ensure production goals are met.

What You'll Do

  • Embrace and embody our company's core values and consumer-centric model to provide superb customer service throughout the loan process.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Processing Pod including pipeline management of reporting pod team members.
  • Meet weekly with your Pod to provide updates and feedback seen through the previous week.
  • Meet weekly with each individual member of your Pod to provide kudos and coaching.
  • Assist team members with escalations, questions, and problems that arise during the loan process.
  • Coach and develop team members and act as a resource to support their growth and the loan process.
  • Possess knowledge of loan guidelines and conditions or find experts to support knowledge gaps.
  • Utilize daily, weekly, and monthly reports to effectively manage the life cycle of the loan.
  • Assign new loan submissions to the team based on bandwidth and skill set.
  • Assess areas of reorganization based on needs and team member absence as applicable.
  • Manage all the maintenance of keeping all key performance indicators (KPIs) at their identified targets.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to report on team members' status, productivity, and areas in need of improvement.
  • Strategize with other department leads to drive business goals and increase productivity.
  • Empower team members with skills to improve their confidence, product knowledge, and communication skills.
  • Contribute to the growth of the company through a successful team.
  • Cultivate a pleasant working environment that inspires the team and motivate the team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Additional responsibilities related to business needs.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience required.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the mortgage industry, ideally within processing or operations.
  • Experience with mortgage-specific systems such as loan origination systems (LOS), point of sale (POS), or the ability to learn systems quickly.
  • Possess superb customer service, listening, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and accountable.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects with multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Innate drive to succeed and take initiative.
