Mission_

A CNC specialist is a machinist responsible for maintaining and operating a computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine.

A CNC machine is a precision machine that requires computer software to be able to perform with the necessary level of accuracy.

As a CNC specialist, your job duties include programming the CNC machine to ensure optimal functionality, maintaining the CNC machine itself, and evaluating the need for additional CNC machine capabilities.

The qualifications needed for a career as a CNC specialist include a bachelor's degree in engineering, experience with computer-aided design software, and a CNC machinist certification.


  • Read and understand blueprint designs.
  • Set up machinery for production.
  • Rework metal to create the blueprint design.
  • Measure and verify all calculations prior to setting up the machinery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
  • Complete routine maintenance of their machinery.
  • Enter all relevant codes to specify the feed, speed, and cut of any toolpath for a CNC.
  • Indepth knowledge of computer and information systems.
  • Strong eye for detail.
  • Excellent organizationa skills.
  • Indepth knowledge of metal machinery.
  • Excellent reporting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent understanding of mechanics, mathematics, and basic chemistry.
  • Ability to interpret 3D drawings and orthographic projection.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Education and/or Experience:
  • Technical degree/certificate in industrial maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience with working with Machine, safety, or other related manufacturing certifications is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Exceptional organizational skills, multitasking skills, and proven ability to work in teams and independently required.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are crucial to being a successful maintenance technician.

Salary:
$25.00-$27.00 per hour
