We are seeking a compassionate and detail oriented individual to join our Property Management Team.


Reporting to the Housing Program Director, the Property Management Team Lead will support all property management issues, policies, procedures and plans for all the affordable housing buildings of The Mustard Seed.

The Property Management Team Lead ensures the buildings operates in a drug-and-alcohol-free, safe, clean, secure and healthy living environment according to best industry and management practices.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate regularly with TMS Housing and the tenants on issues affecting the property
  • Communicate accurate rentable space and market all vacancies with Resident Support
  • Ensure acceptable living standards are maintained in the Tower, that they operate within Mustard Seed policy and budget
  • Overseeing Tenant Management, as per Permanent Supporting Housing Tenancy Act and The Mustard Seed policies
  • Collaborate and communicate with other departments effectively
  • Arrange interviews with prospective tenants
  • Schedule move in and move outs as required
  • Ensuring the Tower is properly maintained and comply with codes, municipal bylaws and tenancy license standards
  • Rent Collection
  • Reporting of monthly rent collections to Finance department
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office suite
  • Create surveys and flyers using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Tracking statistics and prepare reports as required
  • Providing guidance to fellow Property Management staff in all of the above
  • Ensuring systems and procedures are in place to support all of the above
  • Other duties as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Minimum 23 years work experience in Property Management
  • Working knowledge of RealPage Unified Platform considered an asset
  • Accreditation: CPM or ARM considered an asset
  • A passion to be part of ending homelessness in Alberta
  • Understanding of homelessness and desire to work with marginalized individuals
  • Organized with strong administrative, writing, documentation and computing skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a cross functional team
  • Strong work ethic, naturally takes initiatives
  • Minimum class 5 Drivers License with clean driver's abstract

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Travel to Mustard Seed residential buildings as required
  • Moderate physical effort needed to successfully accomplish the essential job functions, such as keyboarding and entering data in databases
  • Fast paced and demanding working environment
  • Moderate amount of walking, climbing, standing, sitting, lifting, and carrying
  • Moderate to extreme mental effort required to respond to intense situations, including traumatic incidents
