About the Team


Intertek's Electrical team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification for a variety of electric products, including appliances, consumer electronics, lighting, medical devices, information communications technology, HVACR, industrial, and energy transmission and distribution.

Our dedicated professionals help ensure the quality, safety, and sustainability of electrical products used by people throughout the world.

General Description of Responsibilities

  • The
    Technical Analyst will be responsible for performing evaluations on electronic and industrial equipment, preparing technical reports and performing testing.
  • The
    Technical Analyst reports to the Team Lead.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the conformance of equipment against published standards (CSA, UL, IEC, etc)
  • Extract, compile and report engineering test data in accordance with standards.
  • Analyze test data and perform calculations.
  • Make recommendations regarding technical decisions relating to the interpretation of standards.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Prepare project files for compliance with operating procedures.
  • Communicate with clients and management.
  • Provide training and work instructions to lowerlevel technicians.
  • May oversee the work of lowerlevel technicians.
  • Perform other work as required.
  • Carry out all responsibilities in a supportive manner with total adherence to: The Company's Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures, Quality Management System, Compliance and Ethics Policies, Vision, Mission and Strategy, and exercises good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Technology required, Electrical Engineering degrees welcome.
  • 12 years directly related experience is desired but not required.
    This is an entry level position.

  • Must be selfmotivated and versatile to be able to work independently in a fastpaced, multitasking environment.

  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters.
  • Prior project management experience is a plus.

  • Ability to utilize basic electrical test equipment to setup and perform tests.
  • Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
