Building Services Engineer

Responsibilities:
  • Providing building services engineering input and coordinating with end users, in-house project and facilities management team members, consultants and contractors on M&E system design, installation and maintenance.
  • Quality control for M&E works including supervision and inspection of materials/equipment delivered to site and installation workmanship on site.
  • Carry out testing and commissioning (T&C) for M&E works to ensure the works delivered are of high quality for handover to the school operator.
  • Manage close out of M&E works from the owner's perspective including managing the handover / snagging processes and ensuring a full set of as-built drawings / O&M manuals/warranty documentation are in place and in order.
  • Working collaboratively with other design disciplines and project managers on developing building services engineering design in accordance with ESF Design Standard and applicable statutory requirements.
  • Assist in preparing M&E design and tender documentation including tender drawings and technical specifications.
  • Conduct value engineering exercises on building services engineering design to ensure value for money.
  • Formulate, plan, execute and monitor preventive maintenance activities for schools in accordance with ESF policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and assume accountabilities as apparent or as delegated

Requirements:
  • Strong M&E site supervision and quality control experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to follow established standards and procedures
  • Fluency in oral, and written English, Cantonese (desirable)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Applies a good understanding of building services engineering standards and best practices.
  • Applies a good understanding of HKSAR building codes and standards.
  • Applies basic knowledge of construction practice and safety rules.
  • Competency in computer-aided drawing software such as AutoCAD.
