The
Food and Nutrition Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the team members engaged in food services operations, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and operating methods to meet or exceed customer requirements.

Coaches, counsels, and trains team members.

Monitors daily work of Dietary Aides and Cooks to ensure compliance with established Ministry of Long-Term Care (LTC) and Ontario Retirement Care Association (ORCA) quality assurance and safety standards.

Promotes teamwork and directly involves team members with problem resolution and customer satisfaction issues.

  • Community College Diploma in Food Service Supervision OR University Degree in Nutrition/Food/Hospitality or equivalent.
  • Member or eligible for CSNM membership.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory/managerial experience in a longterm care setting, or equivalent, is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, English communication (verbal and written), and customer service skills orientated toward the needs and challenges of mature adults and their families, Shepherd Village staff, and other clients.
  • Ability to work with and lead others in a unionized teamwork environment.
  • Demonstrated effective skill in assuming full accountability with all aspects of food & nutrition services in longterm care and retirement settings, including food preparation, delivery, and nutritional care.
  • Able to independently prioritize work responsibilities and handle multiple tasks while maintaining high efficiency and projecting a courteous image.
  • Flexible and adapts easily to change with schedules, work environment, and assignments.
  • Organized and demonstrated problemsolving capabilities in a fastpaced environment.
