Position:
Corrosion EIT (2 positions)


GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Corrosion EIT I role is a technical position with the AC team.

The Corrosion EIT I will be responsible to assist more experienced engineering staff with the generation of project documentation while meeting time/cost/quality/scope constraints.

Typical documentation includes detailed reports, drawings, BOM's, and other materials. Adherence to project, client and company standards during development is required.


This position requires assistance on more complex or high-risk projects and has capability to complete low complexity jobs to completion with some assistance.

Supervision is required and is dependent on work experience. This individual is able to explain facts, policies, and practices related to their job area to other technical staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consolidate and organize project data provided by clients and third parties including, but not limited to: geotechnical reports, construction drawings, alignment sheets, station diagrams, survey data, etc.
  • Assist in the generation of project deliverables, such as reports, drawings, models, BOMs etc.
  • Perform reviews of colleague's deliverables to ensure compliance with established procedures and requirements of the project.
  • Utilize specialized modelling software and corrosion theory to model, simulate and design High Voltage AC transmission line interference mitigation systems for corrosion prevention and personnel safety.
  • Review and analyze site data collected by field personnel.
  • Generate detailed technical compliance reports, detailed design drawings and other required materials based upon client technical specifications, NACE standards and company established guidelines.
  • Coordinate and complete the engineering project tasks according to scope and schedule.
  • Coordinate design reviews and creation of QA/QC documentation for projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University graduate in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in related field not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and computer skills are required.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Pronto, would be considered an asset.
  • Exposure with AutoCAD and BOMs would be an asset.
  • Exposure working with Project Managers in a matrix organization would be an asset.
  • Overtime may be required to meet customer expectations.
  • Field visits are a possibility, but would account for less than 5% of working time.
