We are looking to hire a Service Manager that brings knowledge, leadership and positivity to the team, everyday

Primary Job Functions

  • Participate in the development of strategic priorities and annual budget for the Service Department
  • Maintain awareness of current and projected market conditions
  • Develop and implement appropriate strategies and programs necessary to attain the dealership's service objectives
  • Overall Service Department proactive financial management
  • Direct involvement to meet or exceed all budgetary guidelines set for the

Service Department:
This includes Productivity, Efficiency, Revenue, Gross Profit Margins, and Expense Controls. Regularly monitor actual performance to plan and ascertain reasons for variances.

  • Marketing, growth, and development.
  • Customer visits and marketing of the Service Department
  • Develop and maintain a base of loyal customers
  • Manage Customer Maintenance Contracts
  • Actively bid on new tenders available
  • Obtain authorization and review repair orders
  • Direct involvement in resolving customer complaints and customer relations
  • Direct involvement to improve and to develop new and better policies, processes, and procedures
  • Recruiting and hiring of service personnel
  • Deal with and resolve any personnel issues
  • Conduct frequent team huddles to ensure strong communication within department
  • Complete annual reviews of employees and develop action plans for required improvement
  • Coach and supervise all Service Department personnel in the performance of their duties
  • Monitor techs productivity and efficiency
  • Maintain technician file for apprenticeship documentation and other payroll matters
  • Manage all payroll documentation
  • Stay up to date with all technological advances in product and tooling
  • Direct involvement in the purchasing and maintenance of all shop tools and equipment
  • Contact vendor representatives for assistance when the need arises
  • Comply with the Health and Safety Program Assignment of Responsibility duties as listed for 'Manager'
  • Act as a liaison between all departments

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience working in a service department
  • A strong commitment to developing the Service Team and fostering a positive work culture.
  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic ticket an asset
  • Strong problem solving and decisionmaking skills to determine appropriate actions
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Represent First Truck Centre in a professional manner using our core values to assist with making decisions and conducting business
  • Maintain 5S standards and cleanliness in workspace
  • Participate and encourage a culture of continuous improvement
