Their services span various sectors, including Natural Resources, Aviation, Marine & Transportation (MAT), Property, Construction and Industrial (PCI), and Specialty Risks, showcasing their comprehensive adjusting capabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess experience as a Multi-Line (National) Adjuster, demonstrating hands-on technical expertise and a successful track record within a premier Commercial Independent Adjusting Firm, Broker, or Insurance carrier. Candidates should have a university degree, professional designations, and hold insurance-specific qualifications, including the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) credential.

This role requires a deep technical understanding of Commercial Property, Equipment, Commercial General Liability, Construction, Environmental, and specialty lines claims.

The practice works with carriers, brokers, and corporate clients, focusing on moderate to complex and large losses. The ideal candidate will have an established market following and client base. Their Multi-Line – General Adjuster will support a portfolio of claims for a variety of different sub-lines of business, including:

Property
Construction (COC and WUL)
Industrial
Commercial General liability
Product Liability
Environmental
Professional liability
Transportation and Cargo

The successful candidate will handle the full claim life cycle according to our standard methodologies. In addition, you will establish strong market and internal partnerships across our North American and Global Adjusting and Engineering practices.

Responsibilities:
  • To negotiate settlement of claims to bring them to a successful conclusion. This may involve policyholders, other professionals, insurers, loss adjusters, brokers, solicitors, and third parties.
  • Manage personal caseload to ensure prompt settlement of files, accuracy, and timeliness, including control of vendor expenses.
  • Work within the framework and the claims proposition, focusing on service delivery across the team for all internal/external client groups and partners.
  • To act as part of a team to ensure goals are met and to work with third-party service providers to ensure claims service standards are maintained.
  • Represent our client at internal and external meetings, including review meetings with brokers and critical clients to actively develop new business within the existing portfolio.
  • Build and maintain client relationships and look after critical accounts by providing timely and clear responses to correspondence received.
  • To provide general assistance and support to senior claims adjusters, managers, and underwriters, including projects and ad-hoc tasks as they arise
  • Proactively seeking to identify and implement improvements to streamline the claims processes, procedures, and systems to drive efficiency.
  • Develop, build, and win additional nominations with targeted carriers, brokers, TPA, and insureds in the Canadian Market.
Qualifications
  • University degree
  • CIP / FCIP completion or working towards designation.
  • 8+ years of direct experience in the handling of complex claims
  • Solid understanding of the insurance/reinsurance market
  • Experience with the London-based commercial insurance market
  • Viability and connections to the local commercial insurance market
  • Bilingual (English and French)
