Job Description

Our client is a well-established Irish Civil contractor who has a strong pipeline of both private and public projects, mainly in Dublin and the Leinster region. They are seeking Site Engineers with civil experience at all levels.

Responsibilities:

  1. Read and understand the Company's Safety Statement and ensure that it is brought to the notice of any employee under your control.
  2. Ensure that information affecting the health and safety of any person on a proposed site is brought to the attention of the Regional Director/Project Manager/Site Agent, especially regarding:
    1. Underground services
    2. Ground conditions affecting stability of excavations or safety of operatives (soil, water table, toxic substances, gases, etc.)
  3. Report any observed unsafe situation to the Site Manager.
  4. Carry out work safely, take precautions when working on or near public roads or water, and wear necessary protective clothing or equipment.
  5. Maintain records of any underground services laid on site and define them with marker posts and signs during construction.
  6. Ensure design calculations/temporary works certificates are independently checked for bespoke scaffolds, falsework, etc.
  7. Assume temporary Health and Safety and Environmental Issues role in the absence of the Project Manager/Site Agent.
  8. Be familiar with the company's HSQE management systems and current statutory requirements related to HSE Legislation.
  9. Understand the Form of Contract on the Project, implications of any variation or change orders on program and costs, and program implications.
  10. Check and understand Specifications, Drawings, and other Contract Documents.
  11. Set out, level, and survey the site based on Drawings and Specification.
  12. Prepare Labour, Plant & Material Returns, As-built drawings, technical reports, and site diary.
  13. Liaise with purchasing department to ensure purchase orders meet specified requirements.
  14. Requisition materials and plant.
  15. Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, site supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and workforce involved in the project.
  16. Manage the site day-to-day, supervise and monitor site labor force and subcontractors' work.
  17. Plan and organize plant and site facilities efficiently to meet program deadlines.
  18. Liaise with Project Manager/planner regarding construction program and constraints.
  19. Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and resolve technical issues with relevant parties.
  20. Implement quality control in alignment with company procedures, method statements, quality plans, and inspection/test plans.
  21. Check materials and work in progress for compliance with specified requirements.
Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or Geo-surveying.
  • Member of the relevant Professional Institution.
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant civil construction experience.
  • Options available for Intermediate and Senior Civil Engineers.
Package

€45K-€65K per annum, negotiable for the right person
