Barrier Group Is looking for an experienced full-time (seasonal)
Industrial Painter/Coater. We are looking for an outgoing, adaptable individual looking to learn and grow within our team and industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepping materials for sandblasting or coating, including removing previous paint surfaces
- Masking of materials
- Maintaining equipment required for the job
- Previous experience in the use and maintenance of paint spray systems including conventional, airless, and plural
- Previous experience coating Piping Internals and Tanks/Vessels
- Safely and properly storing and disposing of chemical waste
- Using instruments to ensure specifications and quality are met
- Completion of Quality Control documents
- Completion of daily LEMs
- Read and interpret specifications to ensure all requirements are met
- Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with Barrier Group's safe work practices, policies, and procedures
- Ability to identify hazards
- Report all incidents, near misses and equipment damage to site supervision
- Assist with other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience with industrial painting
- Familiar with Industrial Paint Codes and Standards
- Familiar with spraying and sandblasting equipment
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with 3year clean Driver's Abstract
- Valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake endorsement is considered an asset
- CSTS or PCST Certification
- Standard First Aid Certification
- H2S Alive Certification
- OSSA Confined Space is a requirement
- NACE/AMPP Certificate is considered an asset
- OSSA Fall Protection is considered an asset
- OSSA EWP is considered an asset
- Must be able to pass preemployment and preaccess drug and alcohol testing
- Must complete a Physical Demands Assessment

- Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to participate positively in an engaging culture
- Must be dependable, able to work in various field locations
- Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
