Responsibilities

  • Prepping of substrate (masking, sanding, wiping, blowing down, etc)
  • General understanding of industrial paints and equipment
  • Understand and adhere to corporate quality and safety management systems
  • Proper mixing of 2 component and 3 component paints
  • Clean equipment and perform routine maintenance when necessary.
  • Performs all duties in accordance Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
  • Keeping Shop and work area clean
  • Behave in a professional manner with a high degree of respect for self, coworkers and clients
  • Report to the Foreman any obstacles found

Training

  • Minimum 12 years' experience coating in an industrial environment
  • Experience operating an Overhead Crane, Tractor/Trailer, Forklift and/or Zoom Boom for loading and unloading materials considered an asset
  • Experience with inorganic and organic zincs, epoxies, mastics, urethanes, polysiloxanes, internal linings and coating and 100% solids considered and asset.
  • CSTS2020


WHMIS 201
  • First Aid is an asset
  • AIT apprentices accepted

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Frequent climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting
  • Able to do physically demanding work
  • Required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator
  • Must be able to work in tight spaces
  • Use of ladders

  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to speak and write in the English language
  • Organized and detail oriented with the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Some overtime as required
