The Buyer role involves purchasing a specialized range of products and services for various customers at Bruce Power. Responsibilities include establishing relationships with suppliers, handling contract conditions, and evaluating procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

Receive assignments from Supervisor or requisitioners Maintain knowledge of supplier capabilities and market conditions Determine customer needs and provide status updates Develop procurement strategies and evaluate cost-saving opportunities Administer contract agreements and evaluate new suppliers Coordinate technical and commercial data for tendering Communicate progress and risks effectively

Knowledge and Skills

Proficient with Maximo Strong negotiation and communication skills

Education and Experience

Equivalent of Grade 12 education Various educational qualifications in Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar fields Minimum of six years of experience

Selection Criteria

Review of skills, knowledge, education, and experience Transferable skills such as communication and teamwork Negotiating experience and commercial evaluation skills Ability to manage high workloads and prioritize effectively Experience using Maximo and competency-based interview
