The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Supporting field users.
Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to the Company policies and procedures. Maintain PCI/SOX and regulatory compliance.
Work closely with the field users, Branch/Location and General managers to understand their needs/challenges, aligning both Business and IT strategies. Providing solutions and recommendations to meet these requirements.
This role will interface daily with both business units and IT teams to ensure a consistent high-quality service delivery at a predictable and affordable cost while ensuring service levels are maintained and /or improved.
This position requires frequent travel between Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.
Must be on-call on a rotational basis
Must be able to perform data entry and other administrative tasks, managing hardware inventory, which may require lifting of equipment, etc.
Qualifications:
Skills/Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of windows Operating system, Software Requirements, Analyzing Information, Teamwork, Software Maintenance, PC hardware architecture and maintenance, Written Communication, Promoting Process Improvement. Understanding of software implementation and principles.
- Be proficient in the use of Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio etc). Demonstrate a high degree of interest for technological progress.
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field is desirable, but not a necessity.
- Systems Administration/System Engineer qualification in Information Systems or other related field is desirable.
