Unit Clerk Scheduler

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform scheduling and timekeeping responsibilities using the UKG scheduling system
- Book long and short term vacancies, filling daily staffing requests for relief staff. Receive sick calls, following the established procedures, requirements, availability focusing on priority calls and coordinating with Management and Human Resources.
- Post the daily assignment sheets
- Maintain rotation schedules and vacations schedules, maintain daily records utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Receive and process request for vacations, leaves of absences and terminations, prepare documentation.
- Maintain accurate and current timekeeping records for staff; laisse with payroll regarding variances and adjustments as required, answer routine inquires
- Process postings, shift changes, casual availability
- Maintain and reconcile with payroll, entitlement balances such as statutory holidays, vacation taken
- Answer general inquires in person and by telephone regarding resident information
- Orders care supplies and maintains established levels, reconcile packing slips and order invoices
- Updates and maintains electronic database, lists, monthly calendars, care conferences and medication review schedules
- Administer resident trust accounts; receives deposits, distributes receipts, maintains petty cash float.
- Other duties as required
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Grade 12 education plus three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Must have Scheduling software experience and strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Ability to type 50 wpm
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Accuracy with numbers
