Nature & Scope
Are you a student studying Clinical Social Work, Healthcare Social Work,
Social Justice, Trauma Informed Care, Mental Health, Community
Organization, Substance Abuse, Public Welfare or Crisis work and want to gain
some experience this summer in your field of study? Supplement your

As a Summer Residence Associate, you learn and understand the challenges
faced by individuals without homes, such as chronic homelessness, mental
health issues, substance abuse struggle, visible and invisible disabilities and
the social frameworks in place to support these individuals. If you are
passionate about social work and well-being and if real-world experience is
what you're after, we welcome you to apply

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellence in customer service at the resident point of

- access
  • Frontline role in collection of accounts, screening/intake of
  • Administrative responsibilities and support to the residence
exercising sound judgement and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in Post-Secondary Education Social Work or a related field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and Computer skills


Word, Excel, Windows
  • Some experience in a customer service role within a shelter or
residential setting is an asset;- Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Must provide a current Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check as
per the Association's policy
