Duties

  • Facilitates recovery focused spiritual, religious, and cultural health services to clients and their families, including assessment, interventions, and connections with community partners.
  • Advocates for the spiritual, religious, and cultural needs of clients and their families.
  • Coordinates educational initiatives on integrating spiritual, religious, and culturally appropriate care in client treatment.
  • Recruits, educates, and supports spiritual, religious, and cultural peer support in service delivery.
  • Develops and coordinates educational seminars and activities to enhance community support for individuals with severe mental illnesses.
  • Leads spirituality groups for clients.
  • Contributes to staff education on spiritual health practices and client cultural specifics.
  • Maintains accurate client records.
  • Participates in program meetings, staff development, and research activities.
  • Stays updated on hospital policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Works in compliance with safety practices and the organization's workplace policies.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in divinity, religion, theology, or spiritual care.
  • Clinical pastoral education at an advanced level with eligibility for registration as a Spiritual Therapist.
  • Training and certification in spiritual or religious practices for individuals with mental illnesses.
  • Experience in bereavement support and crisis intervention.
  • Skills in adult education, group work, and community development.
  • Advocacy for diverse clients and communities.
  • Understanding of medical ethics and relevant legislation.
  • Advanced crisis intervention and advocacy skills.
  • Client-centered approach and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with individuals in a mental health setting and a recovery-focused environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Organizational and clerical abilities for volunteer coordination.
  • Fluency in English (mandatory) and bilingualism an asset.

Salary Range: $43.39 to $55.26 per hour
