Duties

: Provide supportive nursing care consistent with patient treatment/rehabilitation needs and goals. Assist in assessment of patients’ needs and in the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care plans for assigned patients in collaboration and consultation with members of the inter-disciplinary team. Provide nursing services as assigned, assist patients with daily living activities and personal care. Provide a safe, therapeutic environment including crisis management and emergency nursing care. Maintain up to date knowledge and practice of program policies, procedures, applicable legislation, and mental health best practices. Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal. Ensure a work environment that is conducive to The Royals Anti-Racism, Harassment and Discrimination Free policy. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the Province of Ontario. Ability to perform full Registered Practical Nursing functions. Certified in CPR and First Aid Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, and Substitute Decision Act. Satisfactory Police Records Check, for vulnerable sector. Valid drivers’ license. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a professional multi-disciplinary treatment team. Safety and Security in the Workplace Training (candidate must agree to complete prior to start date if this qualification is not met). English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual is an asset. Salary Range: Salary under review to
