Irving Shipbuilding (ISI) is recruiting a Production Engineer to work in the Build Readiness team within the Production Engineering organization.

The Build Readiness team is responsible for ensuring ISI has the appropriate capabilities to construct the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) in accordance with the design intent. The scope of work for this role will include the following:

· Identify, document, and recommend means of resolution for Producibility gaps identified through Producibility Gap Analysis whilst considering cost, schedule, and risk,

· Develop Contingency Plans for critical shipyard infrastructure and equipment,

· Develop and execute Capability Demonstrator test plans,

· Support strategic CSC Make vs Buy decision making and business case development

· Support execution and capturing of lessons learned through the Production Test Module

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:

· Education: Accredited Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Ocean, and Naval Architectural Engineering or similar.

o Registration with or eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia as an E.I.T. or Professional Engineer (P.Eng).

· Experience: 2-4 years' experience in a complex manufacturing environment - shipbuilding experience will be an "asset."

· Experience with manufacturing process assessment and development.

· Experience creating production or process documentation (Manufacturing Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and similar).

· Experience technical author of build procedures - writing, managing, and maintaining.

· Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in English, both orally and in writing.

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

· Ability to manage complex projects.

· Ability to manage complex stakeholders within different functions and effectively manage conflicting requirements.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

· Report writing / Technical authoring.

· Capability review through manufacturing & design data.

· Test Plan Creation.

· Provide assistance to improve production procedures, processes and controls.

· Stakeholder engagement / change management skills.
