Baytex's common shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange and the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol BTE.Role DescriptionBaytex has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Emissions Engineering Lead.

Reporting to the Director, Sustainability & Business Intelligence, the Emissions Engineering Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing emission reduction projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and developing strategies to achieve corporate emissions targets.

They will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement innovative solutions and practices to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The Emissions Engineering Lead will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute emission reduction plans.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and compile annual GHG emissions reduction capital budgetConduct economic evaluations of emissions reduction projectsManage monthly capital project review and forecastingAdvise internal stakeholders regarding emissions targets, profiles, and impacts from operational decisionsProvide oversight and support for corporate measurement and fuel, flare, and vent reportingCoordinate carbon offset projects and manage accumulated carbon creditsEvaluate and apply for government grant fundingAssist and advise with corporate emissions reporting and verificationEvaluate emissions monitoring and reduction technologies including field trialsCoordinate timely responses to emissions-related regulatory workflows and non-compliancesLiaise with regulators regarding emissions policy, regulations, and directivesParticipate in relevant industry, technology, and regulatory working groups and committeesQualificationsDiploma, bachelor's degree, or higher in engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field10+ years in oil and gas operations and facilities with technical knowledge of oilfield equipmentFacilities or production engineering experience would be an assetStrong knowledge of provincial venting and flaring regulatory directives and industry best practices; experience with both Alberta and Saskatchewan regulations would be valuableProven experience in emissions management and reduction strategiesExperience or understanding of emissions monitoring and reportingExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and project-management skillsStrong communication and leadership abilitiesAbility to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with external stakeholdersIf you are qualified and interested, please submit your resume by Friday, May 17, 2024, indicating the title and job code LL08-2 to Choose Baytex?Because we CARE about our people and their successWe have an exciting flexible work program called BayFlexWe support training and professional development to help advance your careerCompetitive compensation, bonus and incentive award programsComprehensive benefits package, including a Flex Spending AccountGenerous employer-matched savings planVacation, flex, and designated office closure days
